About Our SACfruits Store
SACFruits, (Sweet As Candy) was a name that was coined by the founder’s son out of a need to be able to interpret sweetness in different versions. Sweet is British, while Candy is US and both mean natures candy for our products.
In a quest to find solutions to problems, SACfruits creates global products with great impact. During my time on the commissioning of a juice plant in West Africa, and interacting with the local farmers and community leaders, I saw the urgent need to reduce the rot, reduce the poverty trap and help to educate the young as fruits were not sold and within a day of sitting in the sun, they became rotten.
The middle belt of Nigeria where river Benue and River Niger meet, which is the most populous African country with over 200million people is richly blessed with foods but struggle to make a decent living wage because of lack of good roads and no storage facilities. The bad roads from the farms to the markets are not passable by vehicle, making it difficult for the farmers to bring their produce to the markets.
SACFruits was started to help address this problem by developing a sustainable value chain to provide great tasting food to the world whilst giving back to the farmers. Following extensive research and agreements with the community leaders and farmers, we created the first of various products in 2016 and launched dried fruit products in the stores.
SACFruits is all about giving back
We started this journey with farmers who could not sell their produce due to poor roads and lack of storage. As we commenced full production with presence in the stores, we made a decision that we would be the first off-takers of the farmers’ produce. This guarantees that farmers can feed their families and send their children to school. This has been at the forefront of our mission to ensure that we pay a fair price for the products and give back to the farmers. For every pack we sell, we ensure that the farmers are paid a fair price. We also give back to ensure their children are educated.
In May 2020 in the middle of the covid pandemic whilst most people were working from home, we launched energy bites with superfoods, in line with our mission and vision to provide great healthy tasting snacks without the guilt by ensuring that we do not add any chemicals, nor preservatives to any of our food snacks.
Our food snacks are nutritious, tasty and perfect on the go snacks. They can be eaten with other accompaniments or alone. We carefully select raw produce that do not require additional sugars because they are naturally sweet hence Sweet As Candy (SAC). Simply put, every bite is just a fruity experience with all products from SACFruits. Keeps you coming back for more.

An art created out of a passion to convert locally grown raw materials to healthy fruit snacks, we primarily produce 100% natural dried fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, mixed fruit packs that also include coconuts, cashewnuts, strawberries and our regular mangoes and pineapples . We also supply various species of fresh mangoes to retailers across West Africa so they enjoy the rich taste in every bite.
The fresh, flavorful taste of our premium dried fruits is produced with patented drying, freezing and processing technologies. The same exceptional quality, dependable performance and a continuing commitment to innovation go into every package of dried fruits sold.
